Cardiac CT practical attachment (For level 2 accreditation)
 
Instruction for trainee applicants
 
Trainee applicants should fill up the form below and send the form to Tjan Wen Jie at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. You should state your preferred training centre (list of training centres below) and CRS will link you with the person in charge there. You will be provided with a logbook for reporting on 75 cases of which 25 are angio correlated and 50 mentored. For review of 25 angio correlated cases, please arrange with Dr Yeong or Dr Gavin Tseng of Raffles Hospital. Tel: 6311 1290.
 
Application form for cardiac CT practical attachment
 
This course seeks to upgrade radiologists who are interested in cardiac CT reading to level 2. On completion of the course, the trainee will get a certificate certifying that he/she has attained level 2 accreditation for cardiac CT reading.
 
Radiology ASTs are highly encouraged to take up this attachment. To enjoy the reduced rate of the course, do take up the ordinary membership of the College of Radiologists, Singapore. More instructions in the website below.

Course Payment
 
For course payment, Fellows and Ordinary Members of College of Radiologists, Singapore are given priority for this course and they pay only $300.00 (Sing). Non Fellows of College of Radiologists are also eligible to attend the course. However, the cost of the course will be $3 000.00 for non-fellows.

Accreditation of cardiac CT centres
Following a review of the criteria for cardiac CT centres, there will be an upgrading in the criteria to be introduced sometime in 2007. The changes will involve
 
  1. The training centre must have at least 20 cardiac CT cases a week
  2. The training centre must have at least a 64 slice CT machine

Accreditation of cardiac CT trainers
 
After the College has accredited the pioneer batch of Trainers, the present criteria for trainer accreditation are as follows:
 
  1. He/She must be level 2 accredited and be reading cardiac CT for at least 6 months
  2. He/She must be working in an accredited training centre/department
  3. He/She must be reading at least 5 cardiac CT cases per week with significant responsibility in each case
  4. The HOD or director of the training centre has to certify that the applicant is still doing at least 5 cases a week

Do note that accreditation of cardiac CT trainers does not mean that the trainer is level 3 certified. The accreditation of the trainer is independent of the joint cardiac CT guidelines (2006).
